Job description
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to deliver work in our Property Home Ownership Team, within our property department. This role can be based in either our Birmingham or Manchester office. This team works on a combination of home ownership with some development transactions and acting for Housing Associations in respect of a variety of routine work connected with the stock of residential properties owned by them including:
- Asset management including disposals and acquisitions of freehold and leasehold residential properties (including at auction)
- Deeds of easements
- Deeds of variation
- Land sales
- Lease extensions
- Releases of restrictive and other covenants
- Older persons shared ownership
- Collective enfranchisement
- Staircasing
- Surrender & Regrants
- Re-mortgages
- Transfers of equity
- First registrations
- General residential portfolio transactions – eg reviewing leases and titles for multiple properties
- Strong organisation skills
- Can work with autonomy
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients alike
- Understand client care and a genuine desire to help our clients
- Confident with good interpersonal skills
- The ability to multitask and prioritise accordingly
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and relevant legal IT systems
- Experience of working as a Legal Assistant or paralegal in a similar role is essential
You may be an experienced domestic conveyancer looking to expand your legal experience and skills or worked in-house legal department for an organisation with residential property focus.
