DWF is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant you will undertake a range of duties to support fee earners including administrative tasks and elements of managing files to enable fee earners and Partners to maximise billable time.

What you will be doing:

Assisting in the pro-active handling of cases as directed by the designated legal adviser(s). Such handling may include:
  • liaising with clients over the telephone;
  • instructing agents for hearings;
  • drafting documents / correspondence to progress the case for consideration by the designated legal adviser;
  • processing documents that are received from other parties including billing, cheques, Court orders etc. as directed by the designated legal adviser(s);
  • document creation – utilising case management systems to generate correspondence that attracts chargeable time.

Assist in the provision of client related management information; collation, administration and reporting.

Process correspondence and documents for respective Legal Adviser / Partner, liaising with other PAs, Administration Assistants and the Secretarial Manager.

To undertake various duties which may include the following:
  • Arranging meetings and conference calls as and when necessary;
  • Maintaining Legal Advisers / Partners diary and follow up system;
  • Assisting with the monthly invoicing process including raising invoices when requested to do so;
  • Keeping files and filing up to date (hard and soft copy);
  • Dealing with correspondence in an efficient manner;
  • Dealing with phone calls in a prompt and efficient manner.


What we are looking for:

  • Strong communication skills and desire to assist others.
  • An interest in fee-earning and case management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products together with the active case management system, along with the willingness to be trained further.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
