Job role: Legal Administration Assistant (Part-time)
Hours: Part-time, 2.5 days per week (Flexible with days/hours worked)

Role overview
Introduction to the role:
Reporting to the designated team leader, the Legal Administration Assistant is to provide administrative support to the solicitors within the team, assisting in the key client, file management and compliance processes. There may also be opportunities to spend time on secondment with a client.
As a fundamental aspect of the role the Legal Administration Assistant will be required to adhere at all times to the data protection requirements established by the Health Business Group.
It would be ideal for someone with ambition to progress to a full fee-earning role.
Introduction to the team:
The Health Litigation team specialises in clinical negligence claims for NHS Resolution (formerly NHS Litigation Authority), NHS Trusts and other defendant clinical negligence clients. In addition to work for NHS Resolution, the team also undertake work for the Medical Protection Society.
Our Health team can genuinely say it is award winning, having received major recognition over the last few years, most recently being named as Legal Services Provider of the Year by the Health Service Journal.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing support to the Head of the Team with the co-ordination of data information for clients
- File Management – creating and archiving files and ensuring compliance procedures are adhered to.
- Records - archiving and recovery of records as requested by secretarial or fee earning staff
- Preparing case bundles and documenting against agreed protocols
- Creating chronologies of medical records
- Faxing, scanning, photocopying
- Filing
- Support and advice to all users of the service
- Hand deliveries, when required.
- Printing e-mail attachments
- Answering the telephone
- Some legal work on files with view to progressing to a paralegal role.
Additional duties
- Possibility of periods on secondment with a client at a future date
