The role
The School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a new teaching-focused lecturer specialising in Immunology to join our undergraduate teaching team to cover staff secondments. This post is an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre individual to gain experience working in a cooperative and supportive environment where innovative approaches to teaching and learning are highly valued. This post will be fixed term until 31 July 2024.
What will you be doing?
You will support undergraduate teaching and will be expected to teach Immunology and related subjects within our main research areas (https://www.bristol.ac.uk/cellmolmed/research/). Duties are likely to include: delivering Immunology lectures, leading in-person undergraduate practical classes, developing online learning resources, delivering student group projects (for UG and PGT students), supporting laboratory workshops, marking and moderating assessments, and running small group tutorials to support students’ academic and personal progress.
You should apply if
- Demonstrated experience of high-quality teaching and teaching innovation in Immunology or related subjects
- PhD in a relevant biomedical sciences discipline
- Willingness to teach students in both large and small classes
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with academic and support staff
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and organise your own work schedule
