This full- time post is available from 1st August 2023 – 31st July 2024 on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on our Exeter Streatham campus and some from home.
Summary of the role
The Department of Communications, Drama and Film seeks to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Film and Television (fixed-term 12 months) to support the delivery of our Film Studies and Television undergraduate degree. The successful candidate may also be asked to contribute to our MA in Film and Screen Studies and MA in International Film Business. We are looking for an individual with expertise and experience in teaching across the film and television curriculum, encompassing film and television theories, histories, aesthetics and industries. The post will include the design, development and production of teaching and learning materials to be delivered across a range of modules, including lectures and seminar handouts.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will:
- Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD in Film and/or Television Studies, to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
- Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
- Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review;
- Be expected to have attained a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LTHE). Associate Fellow of the HEA status is desirable.
