Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking to appoint a full time permanent Lecturer and Course Leader in Art and Design. We are looking to recruit a highly creative, dynamic and digitally capable individual, who will lead on the planning and delivery of general Art and Design on our 16-19 programme of study courses, whilst also delivering employer responsive programmes to meet the needs of employers and adults within the Cheshire and Warrington area as part of the college’s Advanced Creative and Digital Skills Business Centre.
We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in course leadership, and experience with intent, implementation, and impact of learning, course design and delivery. The individual will be responsible for the planning, delivery and assessment of high quality teaching and learning on Art and Design courses from level 1 to level 5, whilst also supporting the department with broader responsibilities, such as interviewing of new applicants, open evenings, parents evenings, taster events, development of live partnership opportunities with industry professionals, supporting learners with industry placement, internal and external moderation and maintenance of course/ learner records throughout the academic year.

Suitable candidates should have a degree in a related creative or digital subject, and ideally a teaching qualification. A Master’s degree in a creative subject would be advantageous but is not essential.
A strong knowledge of both traditional and contemporary approaches to creative practice is important within the role. Traditional skills and knowledge will include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, photography and contextual studies. Contemporary approaches will include the use of digital innovation to solve complex problems and enhance creative collaboration between departments. You will have strong skills across the Adobe suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and the ability and passion to deliver digital based outcomes across a range of Art and Design programmes.

Please note, our Lecturer main and upper pay scale is £24,913 to £38,732, with further incremental points for subject leader/additional responsibility.
