LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANTS! SEN SCHOOL LOCATION: COLCHESTER Join our vibrant and inclusive school community as a Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA) with expertise in supporting pupils with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD). Responsibilities: Deliver individual and small group support to pupils with SLD, enabling them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Support with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance, as necessary. Employ a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet the specific needs of pupils with SLD. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, self-esteem, and social development. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure coordinated support and effective communication. Maintain accurate records and contribute to the assessment of pupil progress and achievements. Requirements: Previous experience working with pupils who have Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) is essential. A compassionate and nurturing approach with the ability to connect with pupils and provide emotional support. Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions for supporting pupils with SLD. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
