Job Overview

Contract Type:Permanent
Hours: 37.50hrs Per Week
Salary: £26,000 - £26,500

Locaton: Heathrow Airport, Wellington Road (Mitie Offices), Hounslow, Greater London.


Reporting to the Head of QSHE the Certification & Pass Co-ordinator's main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and timely transition of protentional candidates passes. Certification & Pass Co-ordinator will be working in a fast-paced and demanding environment liaising with various members of the team.

Main Duties

  • Facilitating the transfer of existing security passes.
  • To carry out security interviews for security passes.
  • Carrying out referencing checks.
  • Carry out DBS checks.
  • Liaise with Mitie employee's & agency to validation their Right to Work.
  • Carry out accreditation checks on all security pass submissions.
  • Ensuring that the background check conducted on an applicant is done to a satisfactory standard.
  • Sponsoring and submitting pass applications only after being satisfied that the person is a suitable person to hold an Airport ID Pass.
  • Establishing a person's legitimate need for airside access and providing an indication for the appropriate access level.
  • Alerting the Nominated Officer to any signs or suspicions of fraudulent activity.
  • Co-operating with any requests for information from Heathrow Airport in relation to pass applicants and existing Airport ID Pass holders, and with any investigations, audits or inspections undertaken by Heathrow Airport.
  • Quality assures all documents submitted, including those obtained on their behalf by third parties to collate background checks.
  • To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.

What we are looking for

  • Must be able to complete GSAT & Heathrow Fire Awareness Training in line with the Contract requirements.
  • An Authorised Signatory will be required to attend recurrent training provided by Heathrow Airport, every two years, to retain Authorised Signatory Status and the ability to apply for Airport passes.
  • The recurrent training will also include a written assessment, in which a pass mark must be met, to continue as an Authorised Signatory.
