Monday to Friday – Term-Time only (39 weeks per year)
Permanent – 37 hours per week
£11.98 per hour (£19,788.12 pro-rata)

About The Job
As a Learning Support Assistant at our St. Piers School, you will work as part of a transdisciplinary team of Therapists, Nurses and Support Workers who are passionate about working together to provide the best possible outcomes for our students.
Day-to-day, your role will include…
- Putting our students at the heart of everything we do.
- Helping to create a safe learning environment where all students are encouraged, and enabled, to achieve their full potential.
- Enabling students to access learning, using needs-specific, personalised approaches, both with 1:1 and group learning activities.
- Assisting Tutors in the delivery of their lessons.
- Contributing to tracking students’ achievements against their learning objectives.
- Planning and coordinating outings and day trips for our students.
- Completing administration work that will support the smooth running of the School.

- Are passionate about supporting children and young people (5-19yo).

- Can demonstrate good initiative when dealing with challenging situations.
- Are engaging communicators, both verbally and in writing.
- Have, or are willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (we can fund this if necessary).
- Have experience of working in a classroom environment, and effectively recording and tracking student’s learning progress.
- Ideally have knowledge of specialist areas such Autism, Epilepsy and PMLD.

St Piers School sits in the Education Directorate of Young Epilepsy, the leading national charity working exclusively to improve the lives of children and young people with epilepsy and/or associated conditions.
We are a non-maintained residential special school for 5–19-year-olds, and we are an innovative and creative School for children with SEND, and a large percentage of our cohort have Epilepsy, autism, and severe learning difficulties, along with communication difficulties.
