Contract: Permanent - Term Time Only

Start Date : September 2023

Could you help to raise levels of numeracy across the school by providing targeted intervention and support within and outside of the classroom? If so, Didsbury High School are looking for a Numeracy Specialist to join their SEND Team.

This position is contracted on a Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to students/pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.

About Us

Didsbury High Schoolis the most oversubscribed first preference school in Manchester. We are a non-selective, non-denominational school, which opened in September 2019. Our students have access to state-of-the-art facilities in a brand-new building behind Didsbury Point. We currently have students in Years 7 to 10 and will be opening our brand-new sixth form in September 2023.

Job Purpose (For further details on the role, please see the Job Description attached via TES)

  • Deliver small group and one to one lessons to support students with numeracy difficulties
  • To work collaboratively with all members of the pastoral team to support the progress of students with SEND
  • Manage and lead extra-curricular activities for students with numeracy difficulties

Key Skills & Experience

  • Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable and/or who have special educational needs is essential
  • Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role
