Integrity Performance Environment Fun Collaboration POSITION SUMMARY Safely and efficiently operate lifts and/or tubing facility. Provides assistance to guests in the loading or unloading process. Checking guests for proper ticketing, assisting guests on and off the lifts by providing verbal assistance and/or catching and guiding the chairs, providing information, checking guests for proper safety equipment, and answering any questions that the guests may have. Always performing tasks with a positive, upbeat and friendly manner to guests or other staff that may be using lifts or tubing. Watching guests' actions, catching and guiding chairs as guests seat themselves Anticipating problems while loading or unloading by watching guests' closely Operating appropriate lift controls to slow or stop the lift when necessary Answering guest's questions, anticipating guests needs or questions Smiling, greeting guests, showing a positive, friendly attitude Assisting and instructing guests on and off the lifts or in the use of tubing facility Reporting to work in proper uniform Maintaining lift area and surrounding areas in a neat and clean condition including lift lines Ensuring that lift ticket checks are performed on assigned lift. Be familiar with different types of tickets and Checking tickets and passes politely Looking for counterfeit tickets or passes Shoveling snow on/off ramps to provide proper levels and smooth ice-free surfaces Providing an orderly, pleasant, and clean environment which provides for easy loading and unloading Testing all command switches, (starts, stops, slows, fasts) before operation to the public Testing of all required safety switches before operation to the public Assisting in daily checks of carriers, grips, and other mechanical components Knowing proper operation of controls on assigned lift(s) and be able to start, stop, and adjust speed on such lifts as conveyor lifts, cable tows, magic carpet, surface lifts, fixed grip and detachable aerial lifts Documenting of all required actions on the daily lift logs Monitoring and listening to all operating machinery Reporting anything unusual to supervisor of lift mechanics Monitoring of weather conditions and reporting severe wind, thunder, or other unusual weather conditions to supervisor or mechanics Assisting lift maintenance staff when needed Collecting litter and trash after a major thaw thus enhancing the appearance of the entire Resort Accomplishing related results as needed Performing other duties as assigned This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Diploma or proven ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical functions, and aptitude to learn/use computer system(s). This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30+ miles per trip. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Mountain Environment: The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc... The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common. Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment. Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
