The Company:
Global Veterinary Careers are currently looking on behalf of an established veterinary company for an experienced Supervisory Laboratory Technician. You will be based onsite in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting.
The company has an excellent reputation in the animal health field. They pride themselves on providing world class analysis services to support veterinary professionals deliver the best patient care.
The Role:
Working in a laboratory setting, alongside a growing team of technicians, your key duties of the role will be the testing and analysis of samples. This may be received from all over the UK from veterinary practices. You will be asked to undertake lab duties that will include:
- Setting up of laboratory equipment
- Receiving and booking of samples onto the system
- Conducting sample tests in line with protocols
- Responsibility for performance testing
- Always ensuring Quality Control
- Perform and provide training on lab duties including haematology and biochemistry
- Comprehensive attention to detail
- Once conducted and processed, log results and dispatch
- Be involved in further projects and commercial development of the service as required
- Leading and supervising other technicians in the lab as required
- This role is full time with a comprehensive benefits package available
- Saturday working on rotation would also be required
- Salary is up to £41k depending on experience
The candidate:
The client is open minded as to the experiences and background of the professional. Successful applicants however will be able to demonstrate the core competencies in the following areas:
- Educated to degree level in a scientific discipline (Biochemistry or Microbiology)
- Previous experience in working within a laboratory setting
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently, as well as supervising others
- Prior experience in supervising others also an advantage
- Competent IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and typing skills in a fast-paced environment
- Comprehensive aural and written communication skills
- Role type - Permanent 40 hours per week
- Rota details (days per week)
- Start date - ASAP
- Specific salary details – up to £41k + Relocation package
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
