Lead Infrastructure / Systems Engineer - IT projects focused
Salary: Circa £55,000 per annum dependent on experience
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid Working (2 days from the office)
We have an exciting permanent role for a Lead Infrastructure / System / Technical Lead who will be required to assist in the implementation of I.T. projects. Coordinating tasks assigned to technical staff as well as personally performing tasks to achieve project goals. Assisting and reporting to Project Managers any technical issues and providing solutions to ensure project success. Being involved throughout the project life cycle from design to implementation phases. Using and creating best practice guidelines, recommending improvements and ensuring resources are utilised efficiently.
The role requires strong leadership skills to motivate team members and requires strong communication skills to foster collaboration with all project streams / teams. The lead should display a high degree of adaptability in order to learn new technologies as needed and successfully manage the daily challenges of a technical environment. Provide a strong technical direction which involves establishing a technical vision, resolving technical disagreements and managing the technical quality of team deliverables.
You will be working in a cross functional agile team and work closely with project managers, IT managers and architects to ensure our processes are both meeting business needs whilst moving in the right technical direction. A strong background in troubleshooting and technology support will be beneficial.
Key responsibilities are:
Accountable for the delivery of the technical implementation and quality assurance of assigned projects.- Lead to deliver technology solutions that solve business problems in line with the technical strategy of the department, ensuring we drive the provision of scalable, maintainable, and performance systems.
- Analysing project & business needs and selecting solutions to meet those needs.
- Helping to design and build digital and technical processes to meet the needs of the project.
- Create and implement risk mitigation processes and ensure Information Security best practice is embedded at every level.
- Play a key role in the adoption of automation technologies.
- Lead with the upskilling and knowledge transfer for the IT technical teams.

Support project managers and project support staff in producing quality management reports, procedures and documentation.
The skills and experience required are:
Proven experience of coordinating and deploying IT solutions.- Technical & Process design skills with previous responsibility for the technical direction of projects, contributing and overseeing the production of detailed technical designs.
- Proven ability of embedding Security in every layer of solution deployment.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows server products. Accreditation preferable.
- Detailed knowledge of migrating / implementing solutions into Cloud Infrastructure, Azure platform with accreditation preferable.
- Detailed knowledge of VMware Virtualisation products. Accreditation preferable.
- Knowledge of RedHat Linux is desirable.
- Knowledge of Network Infrastructure technologies.
- Knowledge of utilising Azure DevOps technologies in managing project deliverables.
- Experience of database systems, ideally in the relevant database technologies such as MS SQL Server and Oracle.
- Proven experience automating processes. (Powershell, Linux shell, Ansible).
