An opportunity has arisen within the University Chaplaincy for a Lead Chaplain. Loughborough University Chaplaincy is a multi faith chaplaincy covering both the East Midlands and London campuses where all faiths are supported and encouraged.
This is a full-time role and you will be at the heart of shaping the future role and function of the Chaplaincy. In this post you will lead a team of 16 volunteer Chaplains whose aim is to help people.
You will have the ability to deal with a wide range of people, some of whom maybe going through difficult times is vital.
The University Chaplaincy is the spiritual heart of the University. It is a place of energy and enthusiasm whilst at the same time providing space for peace and tranquillity and for refuge and support.
The Chaplaincy is unique in that it not only helps the University to be mindful of the needs of faith groups, the Chaplaincy helps to position faith as a characteristic which is considered when important decisions are made.
The Chaplaincy supports and helps staff and students who are in need, but it does much more than that. It is a vibrant centre that allows people to explore their spirituality; it supports and nurtures student faith groups (of which there are 18); it helps people to deal with the burdens of the modern world through the provision of positive thinking and mindfulness sessions and it advises the University on all matters of faith.
As well as being a leader you will have excellent communication and pastoral skills.
