Bristol City Centre

As one of the first stores that Doug and Mary Perkins opened back in 1984, and since those days the store has grown from strength to strength, with a continued rapidly increasing patient base.

The store proudly boasts an impressive 8 test rooms, and a separate Hearcare room that is currently in the process of being converted to a dual room, offering 9 test rooms in total once completed.

Located across two floors and over 5500 square feet in total, you will find the retail, 1 test room and the dual Hearcare located on the ground floor, a further seven test rooms on the clinic floor, and on the top the colleague area, as well as the Retail support centre across two offices.

The existing partners have over 75 years of experience between them, and have invested in their teams development and training over the years. There are over 35 colleagues in place, two include a Contact Lens Manager, Retail Support Centre Manager, Retail managers, plus 2 supervisors. Optometrists, plus Pre Reg Optometrists complete the team, and Bristol City Centre is also a Tier Two Sponsor.

Location

Bristol City Centre Specsavers is ideally located in the centre of the popular Broadmead centre, home to over 90 boutiques and independent shops. Cabot Circus is another popular shopping destination, situated adjacent to Broadmead and is home to over 130 restaurants, café’s and designer outlets. There is ample parking close by, along with Bristol Temple Meads train and bus station accessible in under 20 minutes on foot.

Bristol City is known for its diversity and offers something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a day out with the family visiting Bristol Aquarium, taking in some culture in the museums and art galleries, heading down to the harbourside for a bite to eat and catch up with friends and of course, visiting the main shopping centre, there is something for all ages. Home to some fabulous Christmas markets over the festive holidays as well, all year-round Bristol has so much to offer.

Thornbury

12 miles outside of the Bristol, you will find the charming market town of Thornbury. The town has regular markets, a thriving foodie scene and its very own castle. Popular with locals, this is a fantastic location for those looking to base themselves close to the city but just out of sight of the hustle and bustle of busy city life.

The store itself has been open since 2010 and enjoys a high ATV thanks to the demographic. Thornbury is a two-test room store, running on average 12 clinics per week, to include ghost and audiology clinics as well. The clinical teams operate with the optometry partner Nirav, plus two Pre-Reg’s who are about to qualify and will remain in the business on a permanent basis.

Requirements of the role

Alongside being an experienced and confident retailer with a background in optics,, you’ll need to share the store’s ethos. They’re looking for someone who wants to grow and develop the team, offer exceptional customer care, and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a practitioner who prides themself on their clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach, and someone who is keen to get involved and build a rapport with their team. In summary, you’ll be a highly skilled professional willing and able to help drive the practice forward.
