Labourer/Operator - Mosstodloch
James Jones & Sons Ltd is one of the UK's largest and most progressive timber companies with core activities in sawmilling, I-Joist and pallet manufacture. We operate seven sawmills; an engineered wood manufacturing plant in the north of Scotland and have pallet and packaging operations throughout the UK. We produce high quality, British grown sawn timber for the construction, pallet, packaging, fencing and agricultural sectors and pallets and packaging for blue chip domestic and exporting businesses. In addition, we are the market leaders in the supply of JJI-Joists to many of the UK’s top house builders.
Operating the UK’s most modern, efficient and strategically located network of seven sawmills, James Jones & Sons Ltd manufactures the widest range of British-grown, sawn timber products, including carcassing, fencing, pallet wood and heavy sections. Supported by our long-term commitment to continued capital investment, we have led the way in areas such as digital scanning technology, timber treatment, incising, mini-bundling and much more to ensure that the timber we supply to many of the UK's leading timber and builders merchants is of the highest quality possible.
We are looking to recruit additional Labourers/Operators for our busy Mosstodloch Sawmill. This may suit an individual who has knowledge of machinery or an interest in mechanics. The role involves a high degree of manual handling, lifting bending and twisting.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following key skills -
Good communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and attention to detail.
These roles will require compliance to health and safety procedures and written work instructions. The successful candidates must have the ability to reasonably communicate in English as well as comprehend written instructions.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage, although full training will be given.
Applicants must be able to provide eligibility to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
