Overview:
Could you make a difference to local young people? West Sussex Mind are looking for a Peer Youth Mental Health Worker to join our successful young people’s service, BeOK to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team who work together to support young people aged 16 – 25 years old with mental health needs. The peer element of the role highlights the value we place on lived experience and we particularly encourage applications from people who have personal lived experience of having mental health challenges or using mental health services as a young person themselves. Perhaps you also have experience in youth work, school pastoral roles or young people’s housing projects that you can bring to our team?
The successful candidate will:
- Contribute to and lead on the delivery of face to face and video conference social, creative and leisure activities for young people.
- Develop and provide recovery focused one-to-one sessions, group support and learning opportunities to young people.
- Work closely with other Youth Mental Health Workers and volunteers to best support young people.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of young people’s mental health needs through their own lived-experience, training or work. As well as demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for recovery focused mental health work, you will be a strong team player willing to work with flexibility and creativity.
