Job description
Marchwood Scientific Services, a member of the Cawood Scientific Group, was established in 1998 and performs a range of specialist analytical testing services to customers operating in the Environmental, Industrial and Agricultural Sectors from its three laboratories based in the South and North of England.
Marchwood Sceintific are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician on a full-time permanent basis based on their site in Millbrook.
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for sample preparation and everyday laboratory tasks. Person will closely work with the Laboratory Chemists/Technicians and report to Sample Preparation Laboratory Manager/Laboratory Supervisor.
Role and responsibilities:
- Routine sample preparation and analysis as determined by training record.
- Non-routine testing performed under the instruction of senior members of personnel
- Calibration and operation of analytical equipment as defined by Training Record.
- Maintaining stocks of reagents and equipment.
- Cleaning of the XAD
- Trap preparation
- Comply with company ways of working, policies and procedures.
- Maintain safe, compliant and effective working standards.
- Understand and utilise the structural reporting lines - they are there to support you.
- Report problems in the field effectively and promptly.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 and MSSLs quality system.

- Enthusiasm, energy, punctuality.
- Must be able to work effectively and collaborate with other members of the team.
- Must be able to effectively articulate (verbally and in writing) to technical and non- technical personnel.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
- Highly organised and excellent time management skills
