Role Overview
You’ll be reporting directly to the Product Quality Manager with the primary objective of testing manufactured products, incoming and in-process chemicals and report creating. You’ll also be working closely with the Technical team in analysing and reporting on returned product samples from external customers.
You will have the capacity to learn the bespoke products in depth. You must be capable and confident using computer systems/applications. You’ll need to be self-motivated with a positive attitude and capable of being on your feet for periods of time. You’ll need good attention to detail to ensure you identify product details and any discrepancies from expected standards. You must be able to work with colleagues at all levels, have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative while maintaining a team approach.
Duties include:
· Ensuring safety is top priority when conducting all procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and risk free environment.
· Participate in 6S/TPM activities and ensure requirements are met.
· Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects by reviewing safety, quality, and productions trends and implementing proactive countermeasures.
· Liaise with all departments to ensure all products are tested, approved and shipped on time.
· Belt Inspection, image documentation and belt wrapping.
· Ensure equipment is safely operating, calibrated and staffed appropriately.
· Generation of summary sheets for shipping and updating SAP records for COA.
· Update databases: Belt Data Log, Transbelt Data Log, Return Belt Log.
· Respond to customer enquiries, perform returned belt analysis and produce lab reports.
· Upload Quality documents to SAP.
· Send out Transbelt repair kits.
· Perform raw material and hours confirmation in SAP.
· Perform ND6-5 particle size distribution and flow index testing.
· Perform NCO testing to meet production requirements.
· Perform solids content testing.
· Prepare, condition and test samples to meet all belt approval requirements.
Maintain stock levels of lab consumables.
Person Specification
Essential
· Proficient in Microsoft
· Strong communication skills
· An eye for detail with good numerical ability
Desirable
· Experience working with SAP
· Chemical/Chemistry Knowledge
· Experience in Manufacturing environment
