At Exeter Analytical we provide Elemental Analysis to a range of industries from Pharmaceutical, Fine Chemicals to Raw Materials. We are a UKAS ISO17025 and BSI ISO9001 Accreditation Laboratory with over 30 years of experience, we have gained extensive knowledge across a broad range of Elemental Analysis.
Our clientele ranges from small businesses through to large high-profile organisations. It is essential that the candidate can confidently communicate with both senior technical individuals such as laboratory/Technical managers, as well as less technical individuals such as business mangers/company directors.
As a Laboratory Analyst, you will have responsibility for the following:
· Organise, perform, check and report on routine Analytical Procedures for which the Analyst has been trained. Some of the key Techniques we cover in-house include Elemental Analyser (Carbon Hydrogen and Nitrogen), Halogens by Titration, and ICP-OES Analysis.
· Compliance with the quality management system when completing sample booking in, and testing of samples.
· Sample testing to be completed to customer deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy with data.
· Understand customer requirements and maintain positive communication with customers.
· Work with other team members to ensure efficient flow of workload in the lab.
· Support other parts of the business by Assisting with packaging and despatching of Exeter Analytical consumable orders.
· Adhere to Health and Safety and Company policies and procedures. Adherence to the COSSH Risk Assessment
The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the job role.
Education and experience:
· Scientific Degree (Chemistry or equivalent preferred)
· OR relevant scientific industry experience in a chemistry based analytical Laboratory.
· Work experience working in a Lab environment, experience in a Analytical Laboratory is an advantage.
· Problem-solving skills, confident with solving minor issues within the Laboratory.
The successful candidates:
· Must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to Laboratory work, possess excellent communication and time management skills and be able to maintain a high standard of record keeping.
· An understanding of working within quality systems such as ISO17025 would be advantageous.
· Experience working in a Laboratory and managing workload is essential. A University Degree in a Science discipline is required to reflect technical knowledge.
The position will be a permanent post with a three-month probationary period.
Standard working hours are 8:30am-4:30pm (includes 15min morning break and 45min lunch)

Salary: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
