Job description
Acorn by Synergie is seeking a MEC Technician for a Global Optical manufacturing in Thornbury Bristol BS35 3UW.
Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
£10.90 per hour - enhanced overtime rate
After 12 weeks enhanced holiday entitlement
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:
You will be works alongside other trained MEC technicians, glazing technicians, expediters, Order processing team and Glazing Phone Teams

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:
- Verifying in lenses to optical ISO standard and customer requirement
- Tracing frames, transferring shapes of Essibox, and blocking lenses to customer requirement
- Edging on Manual edgers and assembly of Metal, Plastic, Supra and Rimless frames
- Edging and assembly of bespoke frames
- Verifying out completed orders to ISO standard and Customer requirement.
- Achieving Department KPI's (glazing yield, Return Yield, Frame Breakage)
- Prioritising orders by delivery date
- Supporting colleague and team (In particular the Assembly Glazing team)
You will be works alongside other trained MEC technicians, glazing technicians, expediters, Order processing team and Glazing Phone Teams
- GCSE standard
- At least 1 years of experience in.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Solid experience with
- Basic computer skills
- Working in a team and independently
- Knowledge of Optics a strong advantage but not completely a necessity
Educational Background:
- GCSE Level or equivalent qualification in Maths and English
- Desirable - recognised industry training qualification such as SMC Tech
