We are recruiting for a Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Cellular Pathology team consisting of Medical consultants, biomedical scientists (BMS), Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA) and secretarial support staff work together to deliver a high quality service, handling approximately 29,000 patient sample requests a year.
The department is well-equipped, fully computerised, and offers experience in all aspects of routine histology, diagnostic cytology, frozen sections and immunohistochemistry.

You will be responsible for preparing and processing clinical specimens for biomedical testing, maintaining test record and assisting in the day-to-day running of the department.
Dealing with reception, and telephone queries from staff and other departments.
Maintaining clinical records in relation to activities carried out.
The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, human tissue and hazardous chemicals.
Experience working in a lab is essential.
