On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a KYC Analyst for a 8 Month contract that will be based Remotely.
Purpose of the Role:
Our Client have a unique opportunity within their Financial Crime team in AML (Anti Money Laundering) Operations, for talented and ambitious individuals to join their mission to protect the Society against Economic Crime.
The Economic Crime department are responsible for protecting its members from all types of economic crime, including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, bribery, and corruption
As a KYC Analyst you will be responsible for:
Carrying out thorough investigations on Our Clients member base to identify potential risks to the Society. You will also be involved in;
- Completing enhanced due diligence and ongoing monitoring activities in respect of Sanctions, PEP (Politically Exposed Person) and other high-risk individuals/entities
- Conducting thorough investigations into suspicions of Money Laundering.
- Writing Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency.
- Performing detailed customer risk assessments on members utilising multiple internal and external data sources, making recommendations relating to the future management of these relationships in line with internal risk appetite.
- Making and receiving phone calls both internally and externally for example from law enforcement, other financial institutions, and members.
- Reviewing and authorising investigations completed by other Analysts ensuring these meet standards set by internal procedures and are in line with internal risk appetite.
- Providing ongoing technical guidance, training, and support to other KYC Analysts.
- Maintaining operational processes, procedures and handbooks ensuring these comply with internal policies and standards.
What we require from the Candidate:
- Experience of working in a Financial Crime, Risk, Compliance or Audit type role in the financial services industry
- A comprehensive understanding of Financial Crime Legislation, Regulation, Industry Guidance, and the standards expected by the Financial Conduct Authority.
- Significant investigation experience, inclusive of data analysis and decision making.
- Acute attention to detail.
- A naturally inquisitive mind.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including effective written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience in making risk sensitive decisions, acting objectively, and maintaining independence.
