Our Grasshopper's kitchen serves our energetic visitors to our indoor and outdoor soft play. Our customers burn off their energy in play and love fast food to re-energise before playing some more. Our kitchen supervisor is responsible for creating robust kitchen systems to deliver fast service to our customers. Serving toasties, jacket potatoes, pizzas, burgers and all those family favourites.

We are looking for someone who loves to inspire others, encourages idea sharing, has a thirst for efficiency and settles for nothing less than GREAT. We offer in-house supervisor training to support you in handling difficult conversations, creating an inclusive culture and managing employee relations. As a supervisor you will coordinate the rotas for your team, complete stock orders and be accountable for all food safety, cleanliness and daily routines in the kitchen.

Successful candidates must be able to work the following shift pattern:

Monday: 0800-1600
Tuesday: 0800-1600
Wednesday: 0800-1600
Friday: 0800-1600
Saturday: 0800-1715/Off week 2
Sunday: 0800-1600/Off week 2
Working up to 40 hours per week

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily running of the catering offering within Grass Hoppers
  • Supervise, engage and motivate the team.
  • Ensure that customers experience the catering standards and that complaints are handled in accordance with our processes.
  • Ensure all of the team are completing all of the tasks correctly and in a timely fashion.
  • Train and develop the team in the delivery of excellent Kitchen service.
  • Effectively delegate to the team but support during busy periods.
  • Gain an understanding of the budgets in place, e.g. wages, sales etc to help and support the Grass Hoppers Manager.
  • Deliver in a timely manner and ensure that business standards, regarding service and food, are met.
  • Help to do rotas, holidays, sickness and lateness. To be able to deal with each area confidently.
  • Share any company updates/info, financial results and objectives.
  • Provide coaching feedback to improve performance.
  • Support the Manager with bi-annual performance reviews.

Key skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Previous experience in managing or supervising others
  • Previous catering experience is desirable
  • Able to work under own initiative without supervision
  • A desire to want to create a GREAT customer experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic team player who is able to work with other colleagues in a dynamic working environment
  • High energy levels with a cheerful disposition, even when under pressure
  • Food Safety Certificate preferred (if you don't have this we will provide)
