To generate income for the service by providing specialist digitisation and photography services to others in the cultural sector, as well as to businesses, and private individuals.
To create high quality digitised/photographic images of items from the collections, buildings and activities of the service; to carry out post-capture processing and produce optimised copies of the images for a range of uses including preservation.
To handle delicate collection items (objects, volumes, documents, and photographic media) appropriately and to identify sensitive strategies for digitisation or photography.
To contribute to commercialisation of the museum/archives service by providing high quality digital assets for retail and print on demand services.
To meet stringent digital asset management protocols including business continuity/disaster recovery requirements, archival digital storage and preservation needs, accessibility and statutory controls.
