As an integral member of our Key Assist and Auto Locksmith team, you’ll go the extra mile for our members. You pride yourself on delivering this excellent and unique service to your customers.
As industry leaders you and The AA will operate at the forefront of the ever-changing world of automotive locksmithing. With investment in the latest tools, technology, training, and opportunities for development you’ll be equipped to take on any challenge at the roadside.
Best of all, our shifts are Monday to Friday with optional weekend work available.

Our commitments:
Salary: £38,946.72 as a minimum plus overtime available. Basic Salary £33,720.22 plus a £5226 guaranteed allowance.
Location: York and surrounding area

This is the job
You'll be providing a comprehensive vehicle opening, key cutting and vehicle programming service to AA members and business customers/organisations. By maintaining a high level of knowledge in the field of automotive security systems, you ensure that all equipment tooling and programming software can be used in an efficient and correct manner
You will use your aptitude for delivering the highest level of customer service using tact, diplomacy, and humour where appropriate, whilst being the expert who solves the problem for your customer. You’ll get their day moving again, forging confidence for drivers now and for the future.
What will I be doing?
You’ll be:
- A communicator: You are our master of all things key related and delighting your customers at every turn! You're comfortable sharing your knowledge and information in a way that your customers understand the situation and feel safe that their needs will be taken care of
- A self-starter: You thrive working independently or within a team, driving to different locations in all weathers. No two jobs are the same and you thrive on the variety of work available to you.
- A fixer/problem solver: You're excited to utilise your technical expertise to solve a variety of issues. In cases though where your customer requires alternative assistance you are able to direct them to the appropriate AA Service or Department with ease.
What do I need?
You’ll need:
- An appropriate level of experience, skill and knowledge in the automotive industry or general locksmith industry
- It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
