Kennel and Cattery Assistant
We are looking for staff to join a fast paced, friendly boarding kennels and cattery.
You will be responsible for cleaning, walking, bathing and overall health of the dogs and cats in our care. Someone ideal will be able to communicate effectively, be motivated and have good customer service. Our aim is to ensure that the animals in our care have the best experience possible through our positive working practice.
The candidate: Ideally you will have prior experience within the animal industry or a qualification in animal care. As a minimum you will have a genuine interest in working with dogs and cats. The job is very physically demanding and will be ideal for someone who is comfortable being outdoors in all weathers. Being physically fit is essential in order to be able to carry out the duties effectively.
Shifts: Our working day is between the hours of 8am - 7pm which is broken down into morning and afternoon shifts. You will be required to work weekends, Bank holidays and Christmas or New Year as we are open 365 days of the year.
Job type: This is a zero hour’s contract which can be up to 40 hours during the height of the season and Christmas.
Training: On the job training will be given, animal first aid, human first aid training as well as others. You will also have the chance to obtain a level 2 or 3 qualification in canine or feline care.
Travel: There is onsite free parking for all of our staff, a clean full driving license with your own transport would be ideal but is not essential, this is due to the location of the kennels.
Wages: Competitive within the industry and is experience dependant, with the opportunity to increase this as your experience grows.
