As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be working for a mix of products ranging from low volume, high value rugged industrial workstations, to high volume intrisically safe isolators/barriers. Also you will have experience of both embedded software (eg FreeRTOS) development and PC applications.
This role is hybrid that involves working 2 days at home and 3 days in the office.
Fixed-term contract is 1-year duration.
What you’ll do:
Development and sustaining of a diverse range of products.
Active participation in a culture of continuous improvement to ensure good quality product meeting cost and time-to-market objectives. An understanding of the principles of Six-Sigma would be valuable.
Active involvement in the development and review of product designs.
Support concept/bids phase evaluation of projects with respect to task identification/estimation.
Participation in the definition of product roadmaps.
Maintaining an awareness of current industry trends to make best use of emerging technologies.
Ensuring that software is designed and tested to meet product requirements. This will include regression testing and liasing with test software developers.
Qualifications:
Degree level in Software Engineering discipline
Graduate to 3 years of experience, C or C++ language
Knowledge of SCM tools such as SVN or Git
Experience of unit testing and continuous integration methodologies
Ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation
Demonstration of excellent problem-solving skills.
