Job description
Junior Social Content Editor
Thorpe Park Resort, Staines Road
Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 8PN
United Kingdom
We’re on the lookout for a Junior Social Content Editor, who can create finger-on-the-pulse content, going where the biggest conversations happen, at Thorpe Park Resort!
As our Junior Social Content Editor, you’ll capture and edit photo and video content for use on social channels. You’ll support our Public Relations & Social Media Manager, and Junior Brand Manager, ensuring our content is aligned with our social media strategy for the Resort. You’ll create exciting, compelling content, driving growth in social reach and engagement amongst relevant target audiences. You’ll also identify strategies that are platform specific i.e., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok; ensuring our content is optimised to achieve the agreed KPIs (key performance indicators) per social channel. No two days are the same; one day you could be coordinating content shoots across different teams including Marketing, Operations and Health & Safety, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documents are submitted; another you may be fostering relationships with content creators and seeking out collaborative opportunities.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience of developing a social first content across multiple platforms
- A creative and organised individual, with a gift for crafting engaging and effective social content and campaigns
- Expertise in TikTok, Instagram and YouTube (desirable)
- Passion for social media content and trends and have an active interest in popular culture and celebrity
- You’ll be interested in the attractions industry and the wider Merlin portfolio of brands
- Ability to live and breathe our Global Brand Guidelines and develop content that progresses our brand story
What’s in it for you:
- Salary of up to £24,000 per annum (pro rata)
- 40% off LEGO online and 25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants
- Merlin Magic Pass - giving you free tickets to all our attractions worldwide for you, your family, and friends
- Cycle to work scheme
- O2 discount
- Employee pricing up to 55% off cinema tickets
This role is Full Time, Fixed Term (until end of October), averaging 40 hours per week and will include some weekends and bank holidays during peak times, as the business requires. Ensuring our employees have a work-life balance is extremely important to us (we love a good holiday as much as the next person!); therefore, time in lieu will be given to compensate.
Everyone Matters at Merlin.
At Merlin we welcome the world to our magical attractions and resorts every day and we want to reflect that same multicultural mix inside our business too. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse workplace where people can be themselves, have the same opportunities and thrive together. Because at Merlin, everyone matters! Together, we work to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, no matter their age, race, gender, disability or sexual orientation. Although we understand that we'll always be learning and growing, we aim to be the most inclusive and flexible employer in our industry.
