Job description
Purpose of role: The Junior Sales Trader will ensure the highest levels of service, execution and relationship management are provided to our most active and HNW clients while overseeing the quality and efficiency of the whole client facing onboarding lifecycle.
Business Unit Responsibilities
The Junior Sales Trader will responsible for sales trading, on a day to day basis, and, dealing in investments as principal and execution of orders on behalf of clients. Dealing directly or indirectly with clients and executing orders in relation to the firm’s products.
Key Individual Responsibilities
- The Junior Sales Trader will ensure ongoing fitness and propriety for the Client Dealing Certification function for CMC Markets UK plc and CMC Spreadbet plc.
- Provide proactive and timely support for the client on-boarding process.
- Identify sales opportunities where possible, including new client profiling to identify high value clients.
- Provide excellent and high calibre client service to ensure a positive client experience.
- Respond to and manage sales trading & Institutional inbound queries professionally and efficiently.
- The Junior Sales Trader will assist with the on-boarding of HNW prospects, easing the transition from competitors and identifying any areas that may require assistance from the Sales trading & Institutional teams.
- Organise face-to-face client meetings both in the office and through a range of events to further establish client relationships. This will necessitate some weekends/evenings to be spent representing CMC.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the client experience.
- Proactively respond to and manage inbound client queries professionally and efficiently.
- Effectively deal with client queries, focussing on getting it right first time.
- Escalate all client issues in a timely manner to appropriate levels to ensure a consistently high level of client service
- Take ownership for ensuring accurate client & Broker information is recorded in relevant internal systems (e.g. CRM) in a timely manner.
- The Junior Sales Trader will develop a solid understanding of all CMC systems used by Sales trading, both internal and external and be able to identify any issues and liaise with support teams to resolve.
- Manage all hedging execution and reporting for any non-automated client trades.
- Monitor execution & hedging risk for non-automated client trades liaising with relevant desks when appropriate.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- The Junior Sales Trader will have strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Comfortable taking on the responsibility of effectively managing CMC’s biggest clients and trades.
- Ability to remain calm logical and measured when put under stress.
- Operates with integrity and a highly client centric mindset, with an ability to build and enhance strong and meaningful client relationships.
- Understanding of the requirements of regulatory authorities to ensure that the department is compliant in terms of its processes and procedures.
- Solid understanding of underlying markets and execution.
- Strong knowledge of platform and products.
Desirable
- Intermediate knowledge/experience of financial markets (CFD’s preferable but not essential).
- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline desirable (Business, Finance, Economics etc.), preferably some numerical background.
