Job description
We are seeking a Junior QA Engineer (open to all ages subject to experience) to join our dynamic engineering team and make our QA team a trio! We already have 2 experienced QA Engineers and we are looking for someone who has some experience but most of all a drive and passion for testing to join us.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on manual testing experience with an interest in automation. They should be comfortable working with stakeholders and raising questions to understand project requirements.
Ideal Candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a testing role. We are open to the length and type of experience but please note this is a Junior role.
- A desire to grow and develop in a testing career
- A testing mindset
- Creation or exposure to documentation used in the Software Development Lifecycle
- Knowledge of testing principles and terminology
Any experience with the below are desirable but not essential:
- SQL and database testing
- Automation testing and tools (coded or codeless)
- Postman, or similar tools for API testing
- Playwright
- Jira, or other software development project management tools
- If you have a testing qualification, then great but it is not required, if you have any courses or research you have done that does not come with a certificate then we’d love to hear about those too!
Knowledge of G Suite applications would also be beneficial, specifically a good grasp of google sheets or excel.
What you’ll be doing
A large amount of our development is on new features so there will be a wide variety of interesting projects you’ll get to work on, the principle responsibilities are:
- Test new features using various testing approaches, on all parts of the tech stack (Database, API, Website, CMS) - this may include but is not limited to: acceptance, system, integration, compatibility and regression testing.
- Testing our implementation on supporting third party tools
- Testing non-engineering projects - such as email communications
- Raise and retest defects found during the testing phase of the SDLC
- Triaging bugs raised on live features
- Troubleshooting issues/questions raised by internal users of the system
- Utilise testing tools to script and automate regression tests, currently using Playwright for Front end regression and Postman for API regression.
- Run regression tests, review and determine reasons for failures
- Review supporting documentation for upcoming projects, raising questions where necessary, and attend relevant project meetings
- Designing tests
- Defining and setting up test data
- Demo new features to Design Lead and Product Owner for sign off when required
- Assistance in writing User Documentation for internal users
- Collaborate with other members of the product team to help build an amazing product

Salary: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
