We are currently looking for a talented and ambitious Junior Project Manager to join our expanding Mission Critical team in our Central London Office.

What does the role involve:

With the support of a Principal Project Manager, you will support with coordinating people and processes to ensure that projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You'll play a significant part in everything involving a project’s organisation and timeline. The projects would be complex high risk and high profile for Sweco’s Mission Critical Business Unit. You may have some working experience in a similar role and along with a solid education you'll have a desire to learn and develop into a competent Project Manager.

Key deliverables will include:

  • Determining and defining project scope and objectives.
  • Tracking project costs in order to meet budget.
  • Developing and managing a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Providing project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Managing contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Using appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Identifying and monitoring risks within the project ensuring that plans are in place to mitigate impact.

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. you also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude. You will be proactive, collaborative, organised, methodical and a natural problem solver with the ability to influence others.

Must have Qualifications/Experience:

  • Strong educational background with a degree in Civil Engineering and ideally a postgraduate qualification in Project Management.
  • A solid understanding of the technical elements of projects within the Civil Engineering industry.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices (desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
