About the Opportunity
Jacobs are recruiting for a Junior Procurement Engineer to Join our EDF framework delivery team, this role is a great opportunity for anyone looking to commence and develop their career in the nuclear sector. The Generation Services business team supports our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with regards their nuclear fleet in the UK. This is a key role within our Project Management Resource team which is spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be part of a large client lead team at EDF’s Sizewell B Power Station location and this role will support multiple projects within their UK wide project portfolio which may include existing generation, nuclear defueling, nuclear new build and/or nuclear decommissioning. Key responsibilites will be:
- Maintain & manage the technical/quality aspects of the sites spares and equipment catalogue
- Develop procurement specifications, in conjunction with technical specialists & buyers
- Maintain compliance with all required standards and arrangements applicable to the specification of plant spares & services and assist in the resolution of Quality and Technical problems
- Monitor and advise on shelf life extensions and plant refurbishment activities
- Assist in addressing obsolescence issues including reverse engineering
- Provide advice and input for procurement engineering training
- Support and underpin the Materials Planning process
- Working Knowledge of AP928 and Work Management Process
- Represent SZB Supply Chain at Station and Corporate meetings
- Carry out QC and Store Hold inspections
- Educated to minimum HNC level in an engineering discipline
- Sound working knowledge of technical & quality assurance arrangements
- Kowledge of standards applicable to the procurement of spare parts allied to good commercial awareness
- Credibility necessary to represent the Company and the Supply Chain Group
- A flexible working approach which includes supplier & other business unit visits necessary to support continuous improvement
