Apple Real Estate and Development department are seeking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Engineer on a permanent basis for the UK portfolio. This person will work with soft services, hard services and project teams to become an authority in all aspects of Facilities engineering. Successful candidate must have right to work in the UK.

Description
Mechanical systems across the portfolio include Chillers, AHUs, Fan Coil Units, Chilled Ceilings, Pipework and pump systems, BMS and all aspects of building equipment. This position is for a recent graduate in mechanical engineering who can demonstrate a drive and the ability to become an authority in these systems. In doing so, you would work within a team environment but would also be comfortable in identifying and driving a number of initiatives and improvement projects to completion. You will be responsible to maintain the Asset Register for Apple UK, identifying planned preventative maintenance requirements and keeping the Register current. You will become an expert in Energy Management, managing cost control, contractor management, and project execution, all in how it relates to Facilities Engineering in Apple. In addition, other core requirements of the role are - - Develop planned preventative and reactive maintenance protocols for the UK portfolio. Be part of the response team to any unplanned events to recover the site, but also to document learnings. - Critical Spares- Own and police the critical spares list for the UK sites to streamline and ensure optimum uptime of assets. - Energy Management - Use onsite energy systems to learn how site energy is used, develop new ways to decrease or off-set usage. Be an expert in the UK energy management system and improvement plan. - Budgets - Operations and Capital - Budget development for new projects or operational budgets - Project Management - Where projects are assigned see them through from conception to project completion - Excel in Contractor management – The facilities team partners with maintenance suppliers to perform maintenance on site. This role will require you to work with the suppliers and also keep the site Scope of Works current. - Follow Apple processes and internal systems to ensure all work is done to the highest standard in a clear and effective manner. - Form relationships to make the path to success for projects or tasks as smooth as possible. - Always strive to improve the technology or the processes RE&D use by thinking outside of the box and questioning norms.
Education & Experience
Bachelors Degree or demonstrable experience in Mechanical Engineering
