Responsibilities

  • Work and collaborate within a multi-discipline team.
  • Apply your technical knowledge to work with challenging mechanical requirements.
  • Contact suppliers or manufactures to obtain relevant models and drawings of the required parts.
  • Process Models into usable data for the specific component.
  • Create 3D models and associated 2D drawings within Solidworks, running the data through the PDM workflow ready to release to supply chain.
  • Implement pre-defined naming conventions for all parts added.
  • Produce comprehensive bill of materials and parts lists, for all mechanical aspects of a project.
  • Engage in regular meetings with the Project Team, Suppliers and Clients.
  • Remain compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Provide technical support during the build, testing and commissioning project phases.
  • Manage your time efficiently to deliver design in line with the project schedules.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset in all aspects of your work.

Requirements

  • Have an interest in Mechanical Design within the automation industry.
  • A minimum of an HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (Ideally Solidworks).
  • Knowledge of Solidworks, PDM or similar is desirable.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing techniques.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and accurate, with excellent levels of concentration.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to balance priorities of multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Have a passion for engineering, with a drive to innovate and contribute to positioning PCE as a market leading partner in automation.
