An exciting opportunity to start a career within a Law firm. Internal training will be provided. THIS POSITION IS FOR A JUNIOR.
The Legal Assistant reports to the Partners and has the following responsibilities/accountabilities:
Administrative
- Full secretarial support to fee earner(s) as required including preparing correspondence and documents through dictation and word processing
- Administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files.
- Attend clients both in person (when required) and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the Firm's standards for client care.
- Prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch.
- Make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date diary for the fee earner.
- Photocopying/scanning
- To undertake scanning, copying, printing, shredding and general administrative duties as required.
- To answer the phone and take/relay accurate/timely telephone messages
- Prepare and send correspondence by email and post
Legal Assistant - Internal training will be given
- To produce accurate/timely documents and correspondence
- Provide legal support to the fee earners and act as a legal resource for the wider team, providing help where required
- Liaison with clients, agents and other professionals
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as required
- Skills/Experience Required
- Conveyancing background preferable but not essential.
- Willingness to learn
