Vattenfall is looking for a passionate Junior HR Business Partner who wants to be part of our challenge.

As our new JR HR Business Partner you will strengthen our HR team for our Business Unit Heat. UK Vattenfall Heat is working on building district heating networks across the United Kingdom and already delivering new networks in London, Edinburgh and Bristol. These present foundations for further expansion for large areas and cities. Our projects comprise of large heat pump projects, Energy from waste off-take, other waste heat source and third party heat offtake as well as power to heat to realise a Fossil Free Future within one generation.

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will work with our UK & international teams to provide guidance and insights to support the delivery of our People Strategy and ensure we remain a good employer in a fast-changing work environment.

The JR HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.

The candidate we are looking for has demonstrated excellence within an HR Advisor role or similar role and shows ability to manage strong stakeholders and work autonomously. In this role you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your career alongside the business.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyses trends and metrics in partnership with the Senior HRBP and Central People and Culture functions to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, absences and disciplinary actions).
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Assists international employees with assignments and related HR matters.
  • Supports Senior HRBP with business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Supports HRBP with proactive resource planning ensuring solutions are identified in relation to skills gaps, talent attraction, resource mix and talent pipeline strategy
  • Supports projects, including TUPE and business change programmes, taking responsibility for delivery/output as required and agreed with HRBP
  • Supports the annual cycle of people activity, including salary review, promotion and progression, performance management, and employee engagement activities.

Your profile:

The candidate we are looking for meets the following criteria:

  • Previous HR experience as an HR Generalist or HR Advisor (candidates who have worked solely in Employee Relations but want to gain experience as HRBP will also be considered)
  • Experience in the annual cycle of people activity including performance management
  • Experience working in a fast-paced organisation
  • Experience from working in an international surrounding would be an advantage.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualifications preferred
