We are looking for an IT Operations Manager to join our Managed IT Division; based at a top 100 legal firm in the centre of Bristol.
The Role
As an IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a highly successful, and well respected IT support team encompassing Service Desk and Infrastructure in the delivery of reliable, secure and performant IT services to the firm. You will oversee the delivery of BAU support activities via the onsite teams, and also work collaboratively with teams from Commercial’s Network Operations Centre and our third party vendors and partners.
Your responsibilities as an IT Operations Manager will be:
- To drive service excellence across front line services with a strong emphasis on continual service improvement and industry best practice
- Be accountable for the delivery of high quality, reliable, secure and performant IT services to the firm
- Oversee and ensure adherence to policies, processes, procedures and best practice across Service Desk, 2nd line and Infrastructure functions
- Create, assess, and present relevant management information (MI) and reports that provide transparency, service insights and facilitate service improvement and investment planning
- Provide leadership and management for Service Desk staff and Infrastructure Engineers
- Work in close collaboration with different resolver groups, both internal and external, to achieve positive outcomes
- Work collaboratively with IT and business project teams in support of strategic and operational objectives
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, professionalism, and proactivity within your teams including personal development and performance management
- Maintain and support information security standards aligned to ISO270001 and Cyber Essentials Plus and industry best practice
- Ensure the team is cohesive both collectively and as individuals, focused on providing the highest standards of service to users both in the technology they use and the day to day support they receive
About you:
- You will have previous experience within an IT Operations and/or Senior Management position
- You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and have the ability to create and present complex management reports to senior stakeholders
- A proven ability to lead, motivate and coach staff to become the best version of themselves
- You will have a passion to succeed and the ability to identify and correct problems effectively and quickly
You will also be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Cloud Services – Office 365, Azure, SaaS including migration and management
- Managed Service Provider services, operations, and contracts
- ITIL, Prince2, ISO 27001, 9001, Cyber Essentials
- Enterprise IT infrastructure (Wintel, Virtualisation, VDI, SAN)
- Communication systems, telephony, email, VC etc.
- Corporate WiFi, BYOD, LAN, WAN, networking principles
- Security technologies, anti-virus, content filtering, phishing, DLP
- Backup, DR & business continuity planning
