ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. ROLE / SCOPE
- Responsible for all reporting and analysis for Fixed Assets, Intercompany and the Kentships division (sundry income and expenses related to vessels) including monthly management accounts, statutory accounts, budgets and forecasts
- To grow with the organisation and continuously improve the tools and processes in use
- To assist with the production of powerful analytical information to enable better strategic decisions
- Build and maintain models and dashboards within the business’ integrated planning tool, Anaplan
- People development is one of our company’s core cultural pillars. This role will benefit from sponsorship for of a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA
- After 18-24 months in role there will be opportunities to broaden experience by rotating into other roles within finance, for example Commercial Finance, FP&A or partnering with the Trading desk (who manage the business’ exposure to commodity and currency risks) as interest/opportunity dictates
- This role will be based at Thames Refinery in East London, where Finance and Project Engineering are located. Flexible/remote working maximum of 3 days a week
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES
- On a day-to-day basis the role will include a mix of responsibilities which will expand as the candidate develops
- A key focus will be partnering with Project Engineering to ensure that all appropriate costs are capitalized across the business’ numerous Capital projects, assisting with budgets / forecasts and being the subject matter expert on IAS 16
- Regular tasks will include maintaining the fixed asset register, calculating accruals and prepayments, preparing reconciliations and posting monthly journals
- The candidate will also need to qualify as an Anaplan model builder and help maintain, improve and expand our existing Anaplan models and dashboards in order to provide high quality, timely information to drive business strategy
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
- To be intellectually curious with a continuous improvement mindset to identify, own and fix issues as they arise
- A willingness to learn about the business, leaving your desk and spending time with other departments
- To be highly analytical with an ability to draw insight from large data sets
- To be an excellent communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders
- To be self-motivated, organized and capable of managing multiple activities simultaneously
- Strong Excel / Power BI skills – beneficial. A willingness to learn – essential
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1) OR part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA
- Experience working in a Finance department beneficial
