JOB DETAILS

Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside the inspirational, non-profit organisation 'Hey Girls' in Diss to find them a Junior Finance Assistant. The position can be hybrid, (with ideally two days in the office) with core hours of 9.30am – 4.30pm and this 35-hour week includes paid lunch break! The salary is £20,000 - £23,000pa depending on your accounting experience to date and comes with 25 days hols plus bank holidays.


Applications from candidates wishing to enrol on an apprenticeship scheme will also be welcomed with a starting salary of £19,838pa.


You’ll be part of a small team of three, supporting the Finance Manager and Credit Controller, who both currently look after the organisation’s financial affairs.


You’ll need to already be at Level 2 in your AAT studies and be eager to put your learning to good practice in the following ways:


  • Recording and processing payments and receipts, credit card receipts and

  • electronic transactions as well as maintaining sales ledger

  • Maintaining the purchase ledger and accounts payable activities

  • Maintaining the general ledger, journal postings and ledger reconciliations

  • Performing daily reconciliations for all online payment gateways utilising

  • Microsoft Excel and the company bespoke ERP system

  • Assisting in the operation of the credit control system (no credit control activities)

  • Assisting with month end closing routines

  • Following up and resolving discrepancies arising from the reconciliations

  • Posting expenses

  • Responding to queries (in person, over the telephone and email)


What you’ll need:


  • AAT Level 2

  • Accounting work experience (applications from candidates wishing to enrol on an apprenticeship scheme will be welcomed)

  • Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel

  • Great team spirit with a high level of integrity and discretion

  • Be self-motivated and very organised


What you’ll receive:


  • Salary of up to £23,000pa depending on experience, or Real Living Wage if opting for an Apprenticeship Scheme of £19,838pa, including 1 day a week for college/training

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Paid lunch breaks
