Amadeus, multi award winning caterers, are a division of the NEC Group delivering catering for events at venues across Birmingham and beyond including Stratford Racecourse, Coventry Cathedral, Library of Birmingham, and Birmingham Town Hall.
We have a fantastic opportunity available to join the Events by Amadeus team as a Junior Event Manager.
As a Junior Event Manager you will be key to the day to day operations at various venues throughout the West Midlands, and when non-operational, office based supporting in the planning and logistics of upcoming events.
Reporting to the Event Manager, your main duties will be to offer support to the existing team, including taking the lead on the planning and delivery of events up to 150 covers. You will be expected to deliver minimum event service levels, exceed client expectations, control event costs, all whilst demonstrating exceptional customer focus and delivering the customer experience.
Teamwork and a positive can-do attitude whilst having a flexible approach to work in a 7 day week operation is essential. Our operational venues can change daily so the ability to travel, forward planning and flexibility is essential.
Your main duties will be to:
- Motivate and lead a team in the catering delivery for events up to 150 guests
- Support the associated team in the delivery of events.
- Ability to deliver different types of catering services: corporate and banqueting, conference, weddings, public and restaurant service, drink receptions and bars
- Liaise with clients and venues reference their event requirements.
- Manage the catering requirements for events through client function sheets, placing equipment orders, booking staff, and organising logistics.
- Identify areas of improvement for event and venue operational delivery.
- Ability to operate events to the required Amadeus standards of compliance, service levels and presentation.
- Work across NEC Venues supporting the in house operational teams when Events by Amadeus are out of season.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in Hospitality Events industry or a similar environment
- Must have a full UK driving License
- Can do attitude with high energy
- Customer focused to deliver excellent service
- Strong communication skills
- Must be dependable, reliable, and self-motivated
