Junior Drawing Office - Mechanical Engineering Trainee

We require a Mechanical Engineering Trainee to work in our busy drawing office on a permanent basis. This includes learning to design and layout new and existing machinery to producing detail drawings using 3D CAD. Some mechanical engineering experience would be beneficial, as would previous use of popular 2D/3D CAD systems. Training will be given to adapt to our systems.
We manufacture bespoke equipment mainly using Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium. Machinery includes 4M Press Brake and Turret Punch.
We are looking for a Trainee who is willing to learn, and would ideally suit someone that has recently completed an engineering apprenticeship or engineering college course. Full training will be given to gain experience in the following specifically to our business needs:
· 3D CAD Sheet Metal & Fabrication Design
· 3D CAD Mechanical Design
· Specifying Parts and Procurement
· Machinery Design and Detail for Manufacture
· Site Surveying
The ideal candidate should:
· Be Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows based computer systems
· Have basic experience of any popular and current 2D/3D CAD system would be beneficial
· Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in-writing
· Demonstrate good listening and communication skills
· Have a keen eye for detail
· Be able to work in a team and on their own
· Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
· Abide to Health & Safety procedures
· Be able to travel to Heywood by reliable means. Own vehicle would be recommended.
Working Pattern: 8AM to 5PM Monday to Thursday, 8AM to 1PM Friday
