Job description
We have a great opportunity for a Junior Digital Project Manager to join us. You will plan and deliver small scale/low complexity Digital Services/IT/Bus Change projects to time, cost and quality with maximum customer satisfaction.
You will also plan and deliver individual or multiple project work streams on larger scale/medium to high complexity Digital Service/IT/Bus Change projects to time, cost and quality with maximum customer satisfaction. As well as providing additional project management support on projects to Senior DS Project Manager(s).
Job Accountabilities
Ensure the Health, Safety and Wellbeing management framework is embedded in all activities and our Health and Safety belief statement is a reality- Work as part of the Digital Delivery and Process Excellence team to drive through continual change and improvement in the way we deliver change for United Utilities
- Working with the sponsor, stakeholders and project team in the preparation and presentation of Digital Service project business case(s) for small scale projects
- Provide support for Senior DS Project Managers in creating of project business case(s) for larger scale projects
- Establish, manage and deliver the small scale Digital Services/IT/Bus Change projects or work streams on larger scale projects the agreed constraints of time, quality and cost to a high degree of customer satisfaction
- Promote a safety culture in Project delivery and ensure outputs and outcomes comply with all Legal, Health Safety and Environmental obligations
- Manage and coordinate small project teams
- Monitor, maintain and track project delivery. Identify deviation from the baseline project plan and act keep the project on track to deliver
- Produce project budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor and review project costs, prioritise spend and activity to ensure maximum efficiency and value for money. Early identification of overspends and act to hold the original budget
- Establish the quality plan for a project and ensure quality activities are built into the plan
- Establish appropriate project governance

- Provide appropriate project status reports to stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills
Project Management Certification- Good planning and organisational and problem solving skills
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of project management concepts and principles
- Working knowledge of MS Project
- Ability to work with stakeholders
- Ability to manage own workload and work on own initiative to deadlines
- The ability to effectively communicate, in oral and written form
- Relevant business knowledge of UU and wider Water Industry
- Proactively maintain own knowledge of project management best practice solutions and the water industry and apply this knowledge to project delivery
- Ability to seek out best practice and innovative ideas/approaches and apply these to project delivery
- Awareness of relevant legal requirements including Health and Safety, Data Protection and GDPR
- Formally trained in appropriate health and safety regulations (i.e. CDM, HASAWA etc)
