Job description
Alt Labs – Junior Designer
Alt Labs is a growing innovation and product development agency based in Middlesbrough, looking to expand our creative team to work on a wide range of projects for a variety of clients. We are a passionate and hardworking team that benefits from the flexibility that Alt Labs provides.
A bit about you
You have a love for all things design, you are known for your creative flair and your attention to detail is second to none. Teamed with your hard working, get up and go attitude makes you the perfect candidate.
You’re organised, keep a tidy working environment and like to be on top of the detail of your work, but you can also elevate your thinking to see the bigger picture.
You understand that building a career starts at the bottom, with an opportunity to learn from working closely with experienced people and that means you’ll be working on some very basic tasks one minute and then thrown into the deep end with something above your experience the next. But that's ok because we’ve put our trust in you, and you have our support.
Above all, you care about your work, and you’re here to build a career that will set you apart from everyone else in your class.
We know having all of that takes time but if even some of that sounds like you we know you have the potential to come and join our team. We will work with anyone who shows their willingness to grow and develop alongside us whilst producing their best work.
About the role
Let’s be honest. This is an entry-level position. But it has huge potential for you and the business. We need someone to join our team and help us in providing clients with creative outcomes that will set their business and ours ahead of the game.
This means working in a fast-paced environment, with tendencies to throw curve balls at a moment notice. You will need to be able to jump in and out of projects seamlessly, adding in addition work without breaking a sweat (a bit of UX/UI for breakfast, social content for lunch and a pitch deck somewhere in the middle, you get the idea). You will work with our Head of Creative on a day-to-day basis but also with all other departments in the business on a variety of projects.
It’s an important role, and it’s pivotal to our ambitious growth plans.
Skills:
- 1+ year experience in creative environment.
- Flexibility and the ability to change direction and work on many projects.
- Good Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop / InDesign / Illustrator / XD) – Figma is an advantage too.
- An understanding Web Design and UX/UI design would be beneficial
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Great attention to detail
- A good understanding of brand guidelines
- Deals well with pressure and tight turnaround for complex projects
- Excellent organisational skills and good time management
What your career progression looks like
With the foundation skills you will learn as our Junior Designer, you have a platform to grow your career with Alt Labs.
As our growth plans develop and unfold we will be expanding our team, meaning there will be opportunity to move up the ranks within the creative team.
We always look to upskill members of our team and your professional growth is as important to us as it is to you, additional training can be provided in areas you feel need honing.
The opportunities are endless, and you will receive growth training like nowhere else.
