We have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Database Administrator to join our fast-growing organisation who are instrumental in delivery on key projects for some of the largest government clients.
Excellent administration experience with superb attention to detail, encompassed with basic database exposure is what you need for this role. You will provide DBA production and development support services to a major Oracle estate.
This is hybrid working role where you could be based anywhere in the UK, however there is a requirement to travel to our customer site in Gosport, Hampshire.

What you will be doing:
- Assisting the DBA Team Lead
- Download Oracle patches from the Internet to Development and Production machines
- Copy files from Windows to Unix
- Control of DBA documentation
- Liaising with APPs Team and other teams as appropriate
- Scheduling DBA Planned Activities – liaising with DBA Team Lead
- Set user privileges within the database environment.
- Development of DBA skills
- Support to Senior DBAs
What you will bring:
- Basic Unix and SQL skills
- MS Office and Windows skills
- Use of the internet and navigation of My Oracle Support
- Excellent Organising Skills
- Comfortable liaising with other teams and management as required
It would be great if you had:
- Exposure to Oracle Database and E-Business Suite
- MS Office Skills
- Can work effectively in a team
- Whilst not essential it would be advantage if you have had previous experience within the defense sector

Security Clearance Level: You must be willing & eligible to undergo the SC Vetting process

Salary: £30-35K depending upon experience + 3% flex fund
