ROLE OBJECTIVE & DELIVERABLES:
The client recognise that the ongoing opex cost of IT has grown over many years, and is
impacted by the high number of legacy systems that have not been decommissioned following
replacement programmes, and an ever increasing 3rd party cost base.
The client believe that through carrying out a structured assessment of these BAU IT Opex
costs over the coming months, a material saving can be achieved through optimizing all 3rd
party spend.
CSX are providing a Business Analyst to work within a small team who can drive the detail
required to deliver the IT Cost Optimization Programme.
This position works with Cost Optimisation SMEs to collate, understand, analyze and report on
data to support the decision making and tracking of IT cost savings opportunities. With this
knowledge you will be able to support the wider team’s activities to document opportunities,
refine benefits and manage execution of cost optimisation projects. This role will serve as a
data analyst, working to collate data from a wide range of data sources, arrange data into
standard formats and analyse the resulting datasets and produce reports.
A proactive nature is needed, with the ability to work with the team to understand
requirements and then deliver against these requirements with autonomy.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with Excel to collate and manipulate data.
- Experience producing graphical reporting from datasets.
- Understanding of Cost Optimisation techniques to assess and estimate the potential benefit from individual contracts and services.
- Understanding of project management and associated governance.
The role will require the ability to deliver the following:
- Collating and reconciling large amounts of data and information from various sources to ensure completeness and accuracy both for Cost Op and the wider CIO organization.
- Develop and implement data management processes to ensure currency and accuracy of datasets.
- Producing and providing clarification on periodic or ad-hoc reports or analyses.
- Ability to view and report complex data in a simplified manner for exec consumption and decision making.
- Build delivery and tracking dashboards to show cost savings opportunities, progress against targets, process effectiveness and benefits realisation.
