About the Role
As a Junior Cyber Security Consultant at Akita, you will:
- Work within the security team to provide Cyber Security advice and guidance, heavily focused on Microsoft 365 Cloud security solutions.
- Assist in conducting cybersecurity & compliance assessments against recognised best practice and industry standards, as appropriate to the organisation,
- Support the team in carrying out gap analysis on client systems, to identify current security posture verses current security best practices.
- Act as the first point of escalation for security related incidents within the helpdesk.
- Respond, report and escalate on security related alerts generated from various monitoring solutions.
- Support in the delivery of “hands-on” Cyber Security solutions within the business
- Work collaboratively with the Technical and Project teams to monitor and respond to client Cyber Security incidents, and assist with resolution,
- Fulfil any other such reasonable duties as required in line with business needs.
Core Skills
- Knowledge of managing MS365 Cloud security solutions (Endpoint, Azure, defender).
- A solid understanding of information risk, compliance, and governance.
- Knowledge in IAM, MFA, MDM and DLP technologies
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of security standards and frameworks. Cyber Essentials, GDPR, ISO27001/9001, NIST, CIS.
- Security/Cyber Related Degree.
- Experience working at an MSP in a technical capacity.

Shift times:
08:45 - 17:15 hours
Holiday entitlement:
32 days, rising to 38 days subject to terms after 3 years’ continuous service (including 8 bank holidays)
Sick pay:
Commencing after 6 months continuous employment (terms apply)
