Job Description

The Hiring Team:

This role is a pivotal position on a seriously busy, dynamic creative team. The Team structure is Chief Creative Officer, Creative Director, Mid-Weight Creative, Junior Creative (to be filled!)

This isn’t an internship or a first ever placement, this is for someone who has a bit of experience under their belt. We’re looking for someone who has completed one or two creative placements (or has worked in an agency before), has heaps of creative drive, is a self-starter but works collaboratively, takes feedback and implements it – working up what you already have or coming back with a list of new ideas! We’re looking for someone who is keen to get stuck in, but knows how an office works and can keep to deadlines as well as have fun.

Your Role:

  • Liaise with teammates, and account teams in a confident manner and build strong working relationships at a junior level
  • Research and share ‘sticky’ insights that could be used to spring board a creative idea
  • Proactively share interesting stories / trends etc that we might be able to ideate around for retained or spec clients
  • Support campaign and programme development through relevant research and contributing ideas to creative conversations
  • Responding to creative briefs in a timely manner with a range of creative – self-edited so the top ideas are delivered first, with cutting room at the back
  • Listening to and building upon any feedback given by team lead
  • Effective management of the team down, across and up, working closely with staff and peers – anything that is your responsibility, is yours to own
  • Creating mock ups for ideas – both for pitch documents and retained responses
  • Helping teams with small design requests
  • Reaching out to suppliers to see if an idea is viable – and doing creative due diligence as a matter of process
  • Being a central creative hub for the junior team – getting into their heads and drawing out great insights and thoughts from across the agency
  • Attending all creative conversations – being prepped for them
  • Writing up initial long lists of ideas – in a snappy and engaging way
  • Pitching ideas to team lead and occasionally joining client pitches
  • Occasionally running creative conversations and helping to encourage teammates who are less creatively confident
  • Mentor and guide junior colleagues who aren’t from a creative background
  • Organising offsite inspiration trips for the agency
  • Being point person for the creative weekly newsletter
  • Providing support to the Creative team in pitch deck writing and retained client idea development
  • Managing the time of any creative placements

Qualifications

Expected Skill Set:

  • Design & art direction experience
  • Proficient skills in PhotoShop / Indesign to support with mock-ups and general design work for pitches, RTBs and live activations
  • Demonstrably able to pull apart a brief and rewrite it if needed
  • Be able to research, digest and share interesting /relevant insights
  • Ambitious, self-motivated and spirited attitude to life and work
  • Keen to work in a fast-paced environment – note this is not an ad agency, things move far quicker in earned-first
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • You’ll have an ‘always on’ attitude to creative – everything and anything could be an idea. Someone who finds inspiration where others don’t
  • You’ll be receptive to creative crits and will come back with another page of ideas because they’re just spilling out of you
  • 360 understanding of the UK media landscape; from papers to social media
  • Strong time management skills
  • An ability to multi-task on a number of different creative requirements
