Junior Buyer, circa £23- 25K, Monday to Friday, no weekend working, clean modern office environment, friendly team, The company is willing to invest in further qualifications, and a potential opportunity to travel within the UK and Europe as required.
Location of the Junior Buyer opportunity: South Elmsall
A leading manufacturing business requires a Buyer on a full-time basis to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing and ordering of quality products. Ensuring that product specifications meet internal requirements, that demand is met and that production plans and targets can be fulfilled.
Duties of the Junior Buyer position:
- Identifying demand, working with the Production Planner, MRP Planning Schedule and Profile Reports.
- Sending order enquiries to suppliers
- Administering system purchase order entry and adjustments
- Sending and expediting Purchase Orders to suppliers
- Updating MRP and Planners with ETA’s and any delays that may impact on Production
- Communicating supply issues to the team and providing timely updates
- Updating SLA management systems with Supplier performance
- Working with internal stakeholders with good communication and information sharing
- Analysing trends and managing stock accordingly
- Identifying areas for continuous improvement
- Achieving personal annual cost reduction targets
- Managing a supplier/category portfolio
- Minimizing stock holding while ensuring no stock-outs
- Identifying suitable suppliers for the supply and manufacture of components
