Korea Foods Company is the leader in the supply of Korean food in the UK. A family-run business, established in 1999, Korea Foods Company has around 300 employees working within its Head Office, Logistics Centres, and Retail Stores.
We import from key brands in Korea, and distribute to the Asian community, focusing on East Asian consumers. We have also seen substantial growth within the supermarket multiples, securing significant listings with Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, and Costco.
We also operate our own retail store network, currently with 12 stores within the estate, with more opening in 2023, operating some of our own production within stores.
The company is an incredibly dynamic place to work, with ambiguity and transparency that is often associated with family-run businesses. It is, also, whilst not for the faint-hearted, a rewarding workplace where personal achievements are recognized due to the relatively flat management structure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the running of the meat counters;
· To be aware, adhere to and understand Food Hygiene regulations, personal safety procedures including the handling and use of knives and machinery;
· Maintain a clean and clear workstation at all times;
· Run end of shift checks on the workstation, ensuring that all tools and surfaces are clean and prepped for the next shift;
· Maintain a responsible, safe and professional manner at all times;
· Liaise with other departments to promote the smooth running of the meat counters;
· Receive deliveries of meats and inspect the stock to ensure that all received meat products are to a high standard;
· Report all product or safety concerns to the store supervisor;
· Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish – by hand or with machinery;
· Prepare and display meat cuts in an aesthetically pleasing way, ensuring that customers can easily inspect and purchase products;
· Prepare cuts of meat for custom orders (i.e. cut, bone, slice and trim);
· Wrap, weigh, label and price meat;
· Store meat appropriately (e.g. hanging meat, cold storage at correct temperature);
· Monitor and record stock levels and reconcile stock reports, informing relevant colleagues to place meat orders for the store;
· To be aware and report on yield and wastage of all produce ensuring cost effective production occurs at all times.
· Supervise other butchers or meat cutters;
· Engage and interact with all customers in a welcoming, friendly and professional manner – offering advice and exceeding customer expectations;
· Ensure the meat counter is compliant in all audits including but not limited to; HACCP and BRC;
· Adhere to UK and EU regulation regarding meat labelling and record keeping;
· Any other reasonable management instruction or request.

· Ability to accurately complete any paperwork associated with duties;

· Holds the ability to work on own initiative with accuracy and commitment, coaching and training others as required;
· Experience in Butchery is desired but not essential. Training will be provided.

Salary: £24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
